Women in Ag
A FUN visit from my friends Betsy and Faith, two hard working women in the agriculture industry! Cool to share stories with them about foxes mistaking your drip tape for a snake and dragging it three rows over, and the ground hogs we've all seen midnight marauding on our property. But best of all they brought me yummy, fresh, healthy veggies from their farms. Betsy brought beautiful butternut squash and Faith brought scrumptious sweet potatoes. See the photo below because this food was definitely worthy of a photo shoot! Thanks for taking a break to have a few laughs out on the farm before the hurricane rolled in Ladies!

Raspberries - Week 18 - Finding Faith....Once Again
I turned around and there she was. Faith, that is. 6 years after first finding her, our paths were crossing again and it was so wonderful to see a kindred Spirit who is also on this farming journey, perhaps a bit unexpectedly. I first met her at a conference where she was a speaker, at a time when I had no earthly idea what I was doing. And her encouragement gave me hope that I was on the right path. Well, just as I was wondering once again "How did I get here, and am I in the right place for me?" here she is again. And by sharing stories and introducing me to folks and reminding me that I am not going at this alone, she found a way to energize my raspberry makin' enterprise by lifting my spirits....once again.
And then THIS was my peaceful view approaching the farm that evening, hoping to get some work in before the day was done.
Early morning, I'm putting EVERYONE to work for Just Raspberries, LLC....with a smile!

Raspberries Week 13 - Fertigation
It's a scorcher most days out here, but we are busy setting up the fertilizer injector so we can add fertilizer directly to the irrigation line.
Yum. Had to make sure I took a photo before I ate these, they looked (and tasted) SO good! |
