This is where we left off in 2011. Ripe, juicy, delectable raspberries. A successful year at the farmer's market in 2010 had yielded dollars as well as knowledge. Aren't they pretty? But then....

JUST Yummy Raspberries. |
We got side tracked. Distracted. Met other priorities. Whatever you want to call it, we weren't farming. Husband and I, plus Thing 1 and Thing 2 (also known as our 2 teenage boys). So as we stepped out onto our 23 acres January 1st of 2015, we decided to....well....what? In the illustrious words of LL Cool J....don't call it a comeback, let's call it revisiting our roots. Literally. Because as seen below, we have a whole lot of roots, attached to full grown trees a little bit of overgrowth to evict from the hoop houses before we can do ANYTHING. Time to call on the old Ford Tractor to bail us out.

Oh gosh darn, this is our farm in need of rehab. |

The hoop houses....in as-is condition. |

Pretty dusky out this morning. But when I close my eyes, I smile. I see sunshine, and bumble bees doing their job and us laughing as we work. Like we used to. And will once again. Because there's a whole lot that's right about sunrise and sunset on the farm.
Smiles!
